He is Abul Qāsim Muḥammad (s.a.w.a.) bin ‘Abdullāh bin ‘Abdul Muṭṭalib bin Hāshim bin ‘Abd Manāf bin Quṣayy bin Kilāb bin Murrah bin Ka’ab bin Luwayy bin Gālib bin Fihr bin Mālik bin Al Nadhr bin Kinānah bin Khuzaymah bin Mudrikah bin Ilyās bin Mudhar bin Nizār bin Ma’add bin ’Adnān. The Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) says that, “When you reach my ancestry unto ‘Adnān, stop there”,1 hence we do not go further.
Before we proceed on to discuss the lives of his fore-fathers, we quote a statement of ‘Allāmah (Muḥammad Bāqir) al Majlis.
